Using 'Tamil Keyboards' in iOS 7 - தமிழில் ஆப்பிள்!

For the first time,Tamil language has found it's place in iDevices. iOS 7, which is Apple’s new operating system for Apple’s iDevices has a built-in support for Tamil keyboards.

The iOS 7 upgrade actually sports two variants of Tamil keyboard:

• ‘Tamil 99’ - which will display Tamil scripts, and
• ‘Anjal’ -  a phonetic keyboard.

With the introduction of built-in Tamil keyboards, iDevices users able to directly type in any application. They would be also able to use Tamil texts directly in Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, WeChat and a host of other similar apps.

 Just follow the simple steps to install Tamil keyboard to your iDevices.
1. Go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Keyboards>Add New Keyboard...>Tamil



2.Click Tamil keyboard again to choose between Tamil 99 & Anjal or Both keyboards



3. Once done you can open any apps to start type in Tamil.

4. Click the 'GLOBE' icon in keyboard to change your keyboard (English>Tamil).
* A long press in 'GLOBE' icon will give you options to choose your keyboard.

Tongbu Mobile App V3.2.3 Installation Guide (Updated 09th Feb, 2015)

 *When you connect your iDevice for tongbu installation, Tongbu Assistant will ask to install the mobile app. If not, follow the steps below.

*If you can't see the images below, just simply click the broken images. It will show you the image in high quality. 

1. In your iDevice open safari.

2. Go to 'tui.tongbu.com'

3. Click the 'Apple Logo Link' to install the mobile app v3.2.3 (iPhone) v3.2.5 (iPad). This is for Non Jailbreak users.








4. It will prompt you with 'download confirmation', choose 'install' to proceed.

5. It will install 'Tongbu' mobile app in your iDevice.

6. Once installed, open the 'Tongbu' app.
7. You can go through tongbu intro/features (in Chinese) or simply skip the intro by clicking the blue box as in the picture on your left.

8. This is Homepage of Tongbu Mobile. Yeah, everything in Chinese. No worries. It is very simple to use.
9. Just search your preferred apps and start download.

10. For example, I searched an app called 'Alien Sky'.
11. Once you found the right app, just click the 'Download' button as shown in the left image.
12. This is the quick way to download your apps.
13. It will immediately download the app OR you can preview the app before you want to click the download button.
Just click the app logo to proceed with preview.

14. You are now in 'Preview' page. This is same as iTunes preview.
15. Click the green box as shown in the left image to start your download.

16. This image shows a 'DOWNLOAD STATUS' button.

17. This is your download status.
18. The download speed is really very good & it is depends on your internet as well.
19. 3 different tabs for 3 different functions as shown in the left image.

20. Once the download completed, it will prompt you with 'Install confirmation'. Just click install to proceed. It will install the app in your iDevice.
*If you didn't see any download confirmation box after downloaded, just go the 2nd tab - 'downloaded' (as shown in the image above) and click the lightning logo to proceed with installation.
